Middlesex FA Over 50/60's

The final round of matches in the Middlesex West Division took place at Rayners Lane FC on Sunday 8th March.

Our over 50's played magnificently against a strong Watford side coming out on top with a 2-1 win thanks to a Jim Holmes thunderbolt of a strike from distance and a sharp left foot effort from Nick Brand in the dying seconds.

Another superb performance against London Irish saw us win 2-0 with another strike from distance from Jim Holmes and a neat finish from Nick Brand, although four great saves from Dave Bradbury at 2-0 ensured victory. However, a disapointing 0-0 against Old Meads, despite missing a host of chances and a 1-0 defeat to Godlaming rounded off our fixtures, which left us with a credible third place finish.

Our over 60's only had two games to play to finish their season. A typically hard fought game against Watford ended 0-0 with neither team hitting the target and having scored from a well worked corner through Mike Oakley, the lads were disappointed to concede an equaliser to Pimlico. 1-1 the final score. Although we ended with two draws, our Over 60's finished runners-up!

So, lots to build on as we start a new season in April.
