Middlesex Over 50's/60's League

11 January 2026
It was always going to be tough!

It was always gong to be tough with only three Over 50's available and six regular Over 60's available and nine regulars missing, particularly with both teams scheduled to play a fixture at the same time. Our Over 50's were bolstered by new keeper Dave Bradbury who had an excellent morning. Together with Paul Baggley, we now have two excellent keepers in our 50's and 60's squad. Thanks to Chris York and Cliff Leat for stepping in and playng games for the 50's as well as the 60's. At the start of the day our 50's were mid table with the 60's second in their league. However, with players having to spread across two teams with eight games to play, the 60's were disdavantaged with players having to play five games across our two sides and a number of consecutive matches.

Results: Over 50's. Against London Irish we were 1-0 up courtesy of a Paul Lowe penalty. Unfortunately we conceded two very late goals. 2-1 the final score. Godalming was a 2-0 loss, but two great performances saw us draw 0--0 against Uxbridge and Watford.

Over 60's: Against Staines we started really well with two well taken goals from Mick Stanbridge and a goal from Dave Turner. 3-0 the final score.  A strong Godalming side beat us 4-0 which unfortunately was just one of those games. A very competitive and combatitve game against Watford ended 0-0 and Pimlico beat us 2-0. Considering the player availability this wasn't a bad set of results!
