WFA National Cup Over 60's

With our Over 70's and 65's already out of the National Cup and our over 50's emphatically beating AFC Wimbledon in their Regional Quarter Final, it was the turn of our Over 60's, with a tough away fixture at Godalming WFC. It was also a tough journey having to travel round the M25 and A3 to Guildford on a Friday evening for a 7.30pm kick-off!!

However, the top two teams in the Middlesex West League fought out a tough game with both keepers making top class saves.  With the game heading towards penalties, the decisive moment came with four minutes left to play. The referee inexplicably awarded Godalming a penalty for encroachment, when no appeals were made and the Hemel player was clearly outside a poorly marked area. Where is VAR when you need it!!

Our lads played excellently throughout and can feel harshly treated, as it was a game played in a very good spirit.
